Too Rough 4 Radio is a 'hazy, chicken wings on wax, tape and digital' label helmed by En-rico and Florian and based between Berlin and Haldensleben, Germany. A home for a multitude of up-and-coming acts, for their latest V/A package they call on an array of fledgling producers, each of whom puts in an impressive shift here. Clued-in sounds for clued-in heads, this is a release that fans of discerning house are sure to lap up, with TR4R 02 featuring no less than 6 producers and friends of the label. DJ Barbossa's 'Goen On' is a house cut of the sort that could well be lifted from the crates of Strictly Rhythm’s vast discography, while Florian's 'Express' delves deep in search of a good time, before Joakim Hellgren’s d&b track 'Boy' emphasises the record's undoubted eclecticism. Kush then kicks off the B side with ‘Chico Problema', a really fascinating piece of stunning electronica. Raw Russian label head Nikita Villeneuve impresses with the glorious strands of 'Danielle', a heart-melting track with piano keys that yearn for a summer-time open air setting, while HANY's 'Refuel' then brings matters to darker territories.
