Manchester's favourite purveyor of dusty dancefloor ecstasy returns with the fourth installment of his notorious Ruf Kutz series. Illegal in most foreign states, these totally destructive club missiles have been wrecking havoc on the disco frontline. Proudly an 'edit free zone', the EP opens with ''1 4 Ron'' - a tribute to Hardy's classic keyboard motif, with all instrumentation played in live by Ruffy himself! Super dusty drums, with a growling bottom end - the arrangement subtly bobs and weaves through a variety of phrases with some excellent sample use and effects. A main room burner for low-roofed basement riots. ''See'' plucks us right out of the club and drops us on some sun-drenched tropical island. Glistening, UV-soaked boogie with some of the tastiest analogue synthwork you'll hear all year. ''At The Tuck Shop'' sees Ruf Dug go deep and low, mocking the current influx of slo-mo wannabees by churning out his own brand looped-up hypnotic bliss - and not a cheeky disco sample in sight. Expanding on the groove with layers of gorgeous acid and sizzling hot percussion this, like ''1 4 Ron'' has main room written all over it. Concluding the EP we get a live version of ''See'' which retains the tropical nuances of the original but works the heavy tom toms more and kind of just sits on the crest of the wave, gentle bobbing in a sea of tranquility. With all previous Ruf Kutz secretly coverted like WMDs you'll be wise to act quick on this folks.
